Bookish Goals for 2025

I can’t say I have a lot of new goals for 2025. I’d say it’s almost the same as it was for 2024…this was what I had for 2024:

#1 – read books I actually want to read, and try not to force it if I’m not feeling a book

#2 – take breaks from blogging when needed

#3 -request less arcs 🙃 (actually did request less in 2023 so I know I can do this)

I actually accomplished one of these! LOL…#3! I actually read I think, 50 less books this year than usual.

For 2025:

#1 – read outside of my comfort zone. I read more thrillers and mysteries in 2024. I kind of want to cut down on fantasy and see where my interests take me.

#2 – still request less arcs. Because I requested less, I actually got emailed with a bunch of arcs I wasn’t expecting. But requesting less arcs made me feel less pressure to finish all of them on time so that was really nice.

#3 – borrow more books, and spend less on buying pretty hardcovers.

I think that’s all I got for bookish goals! What are your goals for 2025?

2025….here we go – I did 11 instead of 10.

The Women by. Kristin Hannah – Amazing book!

The Getaway List by. Emma Lord – I enjoyed this one and lately Emma Lord books are hitting or missing, but this was a hit for me!

Ruthless Vows by. Rebecca Ross – love this conclusion to the duology.

Heartless Hunter by. Kristen Ciccarelli – LOVE. Can’t wait for the sequel!

A Tempest of Tea by. Hafsah Faizal – I think this was a hit or miss for people since the ratings on Goodreads are kinda low. But I loved this one!

The Last Bloodcarver by. Vanessa Le – such a good book!

Bride by. Ali Hazelwood – this was a fun one and informative when it comes to knotting. 🤭

Some Mistakes Were Made by. Kristin Dwyer – emotional and full of angst! Loved it.

Funny Story by. Emily Henry – loved this one so much.

Not Another Love Song by. Julie Soto – this one is so good!

The Thirteenth Child by. Erin A. Craig – the book that made me cry this year.

The Blood Orchid by. Kylie Lee Baker – such a good series!

The Songbird and the Heart of Stone by. Carissa Broadbent – different but loved it!

Breath of the Dragon by. Shannon Lee & Fonda Lee – this one is an arc, and I’m excited to read it!

The Rival by. Emma Lord – Emma Lord is a must read for me. But not gonna lie – I don’t really love this cover. I didn’t love her last book but I hope this one is better.

The Starlight Heir by. Amalie Howard – I love this book cover!

The Girl Most Likely To by. Julie Tieu – some of these romance book covers just do nothing for me – is it the cartoony style? I’m not sure.

Get Lost with You by. Sophie Sullivan – I wasn’t aware of this book but the arc was gifted to me so I’ll be reading it!

Lies on the Serpent’s Tongue by. Kate Pearsall – I enjoyed book one, so I’m looking forward to this one!

The Grandest Game by. Jennifer Lynn Barnes – this one came out this year but I still haven’t read it. I would like to read it soon.

Throne of Secrets by, Kerri Maniscalco – I saw this book at Barnes & Noble and it was beautiful but way too expensive! I’m waiting for it on Libby.

To Shatter the Night by. Katherine Quinn – I thought the first book was entertaining and want to see what happens next.

(these can be cozy/comfy reads, books with storms in them, atmospheric reads for dark and stormy nights, light reads to combat the heavy weather, etc.)

I think when reading in a storm – I personally would choose very dark reads OR romances? Basically I don’t know what I would read in a storm because I am a mood reader. So instead, I’m just going to feature books with some sort of weather element in it’s title.
