Best Books I Read in 2025

I think 2025 had some really good books! Here are the ones I enjoyed the most:

• The Night Prince by. Lauren Palphreyman – I’m obsessed with Blake.
• Alchemised by. SenLinYu – I gave this a 3.5 stars but I think it’s the most memorable book from 2025. The hype, the length, the romance…
• Red City by. Marie Lu – alchemy was BIG this year! I liked how Red City used it.

• Sunrise on the Reaping by. Suzanne Collins – this book devastated me.
• Tusk Love by. Thea Guanzon – the one book this year that made me smile and feel happy inside! I read too many dark books lol. Loved the audiobook!
• The Fallen and the Kiss of Dust by. Carissa Broadbent – an epic love story.

• Oathbound by. Tracy Deonn – I just want Sel to be okay in the next book!
• Coffin Moon by. Keith Rosson – I didn’t know horror could make me feel like this. 😭
• Atmosphere by. Taylor Jenkins Reid – such a good audiobook, it made me cry.

Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng by. Kylie Lee Baker – this was out of my comfort zone and I think that’s why I loved it so much!

• I, Medusa by. Ayana Gray – I had to get it, I was too impatient to wait for it.

• Seven Deadly Thorns by. Amber Hamilton – my Fairyloot edition came in and it is gorgeous.
• Unlock the Dark by. Sasa Hawk – I ordered this one in the Book Outlet $5.99 sale.
• Witch of Wild Things by. Raquel Vasquez Gilliland – another book I’ve been wanting to read for awhile and bought in the Book Outlet sale.

• Songlight by. Moira Buffini – love this book cover, got it in the Book Outlet sale.
• A Language of Dragons by. S.F. Williamson – I’ve seen this around everywhere.
• A British Girl’s Guide to Hurricanes and Heartbreak by. Laura Taylor Namey – I loved book one, and always wanted to read this one.

The Death-Made Prince by. Lisette Marshall – I loved this so much I had to get the book.

Santa is ME lol…or gift cards. I think it’s funny how everyone around me knows I read a lot of books, but only one of my besties – the one that reads, gives me a gift card for books. 🤣 I’m so grateful she knows what I like!

• Dragon Cursed by. Elise Kova – I have it on pre-order!
• The Wolf and the Crown of Blood by. Elizabeth May – I want to pre-order this but I’m waiting for the price to drop.
• Daggermouth by. H.M. Wolfe – I just read this one and loved it so I want it on my shelf.

• The Demon and the Light by. Axie Oh – so I have the Fairyloot version of the first book and I want the Fairyloot version of this one so they can match! But I don’t want to spend that kind of money right now.
• Starchaser by. R.M. Gray – I have book one, so I want to get this one for my shelf but maybe waiting for it to show up on Book Outlet.
• Cold Wire by. Chloe Gong – another book I enjoyed and want on my shelf, I love the cover!

• The Weaver Bride by. Lydia Gregovic – It’s so pretty I’ve been wanting it on my shelf.
• The Fallen and the Kiss of Dusk by. Carissa Broadbent – I have only part of this series on my book shelf and I need to start completing it!

Silvercloak by. L.K. Steven – I liked this one a lot, wanted the Fairyloot edition and missed out on it. So I’m just waiting to get it when the price goes down or it’s on Book Outlet.

Books I Enjoyed that Were Outside My Comfort Zone

• Middle of the Night by. Riley Sager – I kept seeing this author’s book around and I finally read one and did enjoy it. Will definitely try out more of his books.
• Hekate: The Witch by. Nikita Gill – I really enjoyed this book and I didn’t think I would because it is written like poetry with some paragraphs for other chapters. So I didn’t think I’d like it because I don’t usually read poetry.
• Alchemised by. SenLinYu – this is a long book and super hyped so I am intimidated by it a little. I’m not afraid of how long it is but I was just afraid I’d be disappointed because the hype is so strong.

• Coldwire by. Chloe Gong– I love Chloe Gong but Sci-Fi isn’t a genre I usually pick up so I was hesitant going into this one and I enjoyed it – even though there was a lot of tech words to process. 😅
• Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by. Grady Hendrix – I haven’t read anything from this author yet but definitely want to! Leave me any recs for which book I should read in the comments.
• Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng by. Kylie Lee Baker – I love this author and have read all her books and I thought this was so different in what I’ve read from her before (fantasy). So Bat Eater is horror and out of my element but I loved it.

• Katabasis by. R.F. Kuang – it’s VERY academic and I had to process a lot of information but I enjoyed it a lot.
• Coffin Moon by. Keith Rosson – it’s horror (and I don’t do a lot of horror) and the villain is a psychopath but the heroes in this story had such an amazing story, I loved this book.
• As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by. Zoulfa Katouh – a book about living in Syria during a civil war – this book broke my heart.

• A Curious Kind of Magic by. Mara Rutherford – this was an arc I just finished. It’s a cozy fantasy and I enjoyed it!
• The Rebel and the Rose by. Catherine Doyle – another arc that I am currently reading. So far, so good!
• Graceless Heart by. Isabel Ibañez – yup, another arc that I will start reading in December since it publishes in January.

• Blackthorn by. J.T. Geissinger – an arc I did finish, this book releases today actually!
• For No Mortal Creature by. Keshe Chow – another arc and yes I finished it.
• An Arcane Inheritance by. Kamilah Cole – this is an arc, haven’t read it yet and this book comes out in December.

• Vesselless by. Cortney L. Winn – not an arc lol, just a book I saw on Allurial and then found on Kindle Unlimited.
• Oxford Blood by. Rachael Davis Featherstone – another arc but this comes out in January so I haven’t read it yet.
• We Who Have no Gods by. Liza Anderson – an arc, this is a book that comes out in January so I have not gotten to it.

Fallen City by. Adrienne Young – an arc that releases TODAY and yes, I did finish it.
