Weekly Wrap Up | 11/2/25

Aloha friends!

Another week is over and here’s what happened:

+ What a week – daughter had a last minute costume change right before the day of her school Halloween parade. So I had to find stuff for that. We carved pumpkins and painted some. And we made some last minute Halloween decorations using my daughter’s artwork. She loves Dandy’s World on Roblox and constantly draws her own skins or versions of the characters on Procreate. I decided to print a few of them and stick them in the lawn.😅. It’s a mild kid horror game so I thought it was perfect for Halloween plus she was going as Dandy for trick or treating also.

My daughter didn’t draw the Gardenview sign but she drew the other characters. And that’s her in her Dandy mask that she made. 😅

+ Halloween day was so tiring! My daughter had a school parade which is always fun, but it gets hot in the sun. So for some reason that really made me tired, then I had to go to the store, then carve our extra pumpkin, then pick up the kids, feed them dinner and then get them ready for trick or treating. I stayed home this time to pass out candy and I really thought it would be packed because it was Friday but I think due to the high prices of everything and the government shutdown affecting people, my neighbors right next to me and across from me, who usually pass out candy each year…did not this time so I was like the lone house one a darkened section of the street – they also didn’t decorate. 😩 I still got a bunch of trick or treaters, mostly teens I’d say, so I was kind of sad knowing the little kids in the neighborhood have grown up – including mine! My son ran into friends and took off trick or treating with them for the first time. He had so much fun! My hubby took my daughter around the block. My son said some other blocks already had bowls without candy left and there I was with still a lot to give away. Sigh…I should have been giving kids handfuls but I didn’t in the beginning because I bought less candy this year due to it being expensive. And now I have a lot of candy in my house. 😅 I even gave a huge ziplock bag to my parents to take home to my nephews. Yesterday I was so tired and recovering from Halloween lol…but today I will be taking the decorations down.

+ It’s November and Tuesday is my birthday woohoo!

Weekly Wrap Up | 10/26/25

Aloha friends!

Another week is over and here’s what happened:

+ My daughter was sick in the beginning of the week and then my son didn’t have school on Wednesday. I’m just glad she’s better and this week is parent conference week so she gets short days at school for two weeks!

+ Halloween is on Friday – my daughter made her own mask, she’s Dandy from the Roblox game Dandy’s World. My son and hubby are characters from Demon Slayer (which they have been watching for the past few months – plus they went to the movie). ME? Halloween is always so HOT these days so I’m wearing a tank top and passing out candy. Usually I go around the block with my daughter but since they are all dressing up I told my hubby he can take the kiddos since I usually do it. 😅

I’ve been listening to a lot of oldies but goodies from the 80’s/90’s. But I also listened to EJAE’s new single! EJAE is Rumi’s singing voice in K-Pop Demon Hunters and it’s so exciting to see her putting out new music. EJAE – In Another World.

+ Back to school and it went quick except it’s been harder to wake up in the morning because it’s dark still.

+ Nothing else new this week – government is still shut down so I guess my hubby isn’t getting a paycheck on Friday. It sucks!

Weekly Wrap Up | 10/12/25

Aloha friends!

Another week is over and here’s what happened:

+ We had a very chill week – we had some rainy and humid weather but we didn’t do much for fall break. Not like we have the money to spend since the government is shutdown, so glad my hubby got partial pay but still…would love the govt to open by the next pay day since we have a mortgage to pay and all. 🙄.

+ I did put out some Halloween decorations – I’m so lazy that I’m more of a solar decoration kinda person. If it is powered by the sun and has lights, I’m using that to decorate my house. 😅 I don’t want to deal with extension cords and all that. I also bought the candy I’m passing out for Halloween night – I didn’t get any chocolates, it’s too expensive, so I stuck with sour patch kids and nerds kind of candy.

Weekly Wrap Up | 10/5/25

Aloha friends!

Another week is over and here’s what happened:

+ My hubby took a very last minute trip to Osaka, Japan, where he is looking to buy a small house. We aren’t moving, but he likes knowing we can have a place when we visit there. He comes back home today but I loved the pictures he sent, I hope we can go next year or something (never mind, next year is busy lol)…maybe 2027?

+ My hubby is also furloughed during this govt. shutdown so who knows how long it will go on – sucks. I’m trying to stay be cheerful for my kids, you know it’s October, it’s the holidays but damn am I always worried. I hate this timeline in the USA and all around the world. It’s bad. BAD.

+ This week my kids are on fall break! They are so happy about that.

Albums I listened to:

  • Cardi B – Am I the Drama? – on repeat, daily – it pumps me up! This is just my MOOD lately.
  • Taylor Swift – The Life of a Showgirl – first listen? I had high expectations for an energetic album…I think I was expecting something like 1989 because of Max Martin – but I know, I know it’s a different album, different times, she’s older, she’s happy now. I wanted the “showgirl” part 😅. Like big and bright but it was slower beats than I was expecting. I like The Fate of Ophelia, Opalite (reminds me of the song, Be My Little Baby by the Ronettes – oh oh oh ohhhhh!) and Ruin the Friendship so far. Second listen? Same songs I like and honestly all the other songs, I can’t listen through. Is it the writing? I like the beats but the lyrics…It’s not hitting. 😟 It’s okay, not my favorite album of hers.

Another week is over and here’s what happened:

+ Today is my break! It’s been a long week, starting from all the events we had last weekend and straight into the week filled with doctor appointments, had to renew my driver’s license and then my daughter’s annual school carnival which is held from 2-5pm (the HOTTEST time of the day) – I dread it every year because it’s a sweat fest, but she loves it so I take her. 😅

Another week is over and here’s what happened:

+ How are we all getting through the week? I’ve thrown myself into books – and why, why, why do all my audiobook requests come through at the same time? 😩

+ Kids had Friday off from school but it was a busy weekend with my dad’s birthday (we had lunch at our house), kids going to piano and swim, and then a cousin’s daughter’s birthday is today – so we are going to that!

Another week is over and here’s what happened:

+ This week was mentally and emotionally draining. I am sick of gun violence. I cannot believe this country puts the value of guns over lives. People’s lives. CHILDREN’s lives. I am SICK of it.

I know it’s more complicated than gun control but that’s a step in the right direction, right? I don’t understand how all of us right now cannot agree on that alone, that it’s not OKAY that our kids are unsafe and sitting ducks at school. Smh…make it make sense.

SIGH…I’ll get back this week into reading, since I have some arcs I need to finish up, but my heart is so heavy.

+ It’s September! So that means I had to spend some time getting my car maintenance done and safety check. I waited about 3 hours but at least I got to sit and read!

+ Football (NFL) is back! And the Philadelphia Eagles won their first game, so I’m happy.
