Aloha friends!

It was recital week for my daughter so we had a full costume rehearsal then her recital was Saturday night. I volunteered for her dressing room and

I’m so glad that it’s all over! Now I can concentrate on the ending of school. Kids got their last field trips this week and next week. My son has a graduation ceremony at the end of May.

Anyway I hope everyone has a good week!

Aloha friends!

What a week and I didn’t realize mercury was in retrograde until I checked and yup total makes sense! I had ants in the house this week but I found where they were coming in from and plugged the hole up. Then my neighbor had something to show me – apparently the dryer vent cover on the outside of my house was damaged, knocked off? Not sure it happened or when – over time? But my neighbor said he saw a bird come out of my dryer vent! Sure enough I saw it happen with my own eyes – I had to remove all the twigs and leaves they stuffed in there but they kept coming back so I tried to put some chicken fence wire over the hole flap until I could get the right covering at the hardware store. But these mynah birds weren’t hindered and I kept finding twigs hanging out of the hole and having to climb a ladder to remove them. Definitely wish my husband was here to take care of it BUT he’s not 🤷🏻‍♀️…anyway I got so tired of cleaning the hole, I put a piece of duct tape on the flap and they haven’t been able to remove it – HA! They kept me busy for 2 days until I put that tape – dunno why I didn’t just do that in the first place.

Then I called a vent cleaning service to clean my dryer vent. God knows what those birds shoved into my vent! I even saw a bird on the fence with a small plastic bag in it’s mouth before I shooed it away. It was time to get a vent cleaning anyway, we’ve been at this house for 10 years. And sure enough there was a lot of lint in the vent and strings and other random things the birds have stuffed it with to make a nest. So glad I got it cleaned out!

So after figuring out the ant hole, and tape was the answer for the vent and booking the vent cleaning service, feeling like I accomplished a lot this week fighting animals lol…Wednesday night my son is brushing his teeth in his bathroom at 9pm and then starts yelling “there’s a centipede in the sink!!”. I hate roaches and centipedes but Hawaii has lots of them because of our tropical weather…I’ve done good blocking up cracks at the bottom doors so they don’t come in over the years. And I usually have my hubby deal with the bugs – of course with him not there I had to get brave LOL. UGHHHHH I hate centipedes. The ones in Hawaii sting too – and they are ugly UGH. Usually I find them in my backyard after heavy rains. Guess this one was looking for water or something, I have no clue but it was climbing out of his sink drain. I sprayed blindly at it with a can of Raid and that took care of it. But let me tell you I had a hard time going to sleep after that. Last time one got into the house was 10 years ago 😅. I guess this was our 10 year anniversary centipede. 😫 Let’s just say my son doesn’t want to use his sink and we’ve now kept the sinks plugged up when not in use. Then the next day I had him take our recyclables to our recycle bin outside and he came back with all the items still in his hand and he said “mom there is a centipede by the bin”. And it was a BIG one ughhhhhh – sprayed it and watched it wiggle as I jumped out of it’s way. I said maybe he will have good luck this week LOL. 😅 And he kinda did – he got to 100 subs on his youtube channel this week!

Mercury retrograde and Passover? I was visited by plagues this week – so on brand. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So not cool! 😅 But it can only get good from now on right?! Right!

Anyway I hope everyone has a good week!

Aloha friends!

I got over my illness – YAY! And right as my coughing was coming to an end, my daughter’s allergies/coughing started again and she got pink eye. 😅 Spring has not been kind to us!

My best friend since kindergarten so yes…that is 40 years of friendship 🥲🥰, had neck fusion surgery this past Tuesday. So my thoughts have been on her too – she was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when we were in the second grade, I still remember our teacher explaining why she was going to miss so much class time. Anyway, it’s been a battle these past 40 years for her, with a knee replacement and hip replacement all before the age of 21, daily pain, joints fusing but she’s been a fighter. Her brother is giving me updates as he gets them – but the surgery went well, she’s just dealing with the pain now. 😔 So I have been worried about her but I am SO glad the surgery went well.

My daughter’s dance recital is coming up so we are busy with that. I didn’t get much reading done at all. Still in my slump I think and maybe it’s needed?

Anyway I hope everyone has a good week!

Aloha friends!

I got sick the day of the solar eclipse – we only got a 20% eclipse here in Hawaii, but yeah was feeling yucky at the end of the day and then the next few days I was struggling to get through my days with congestion, joint aching, chills, coughing, vertigo – it sucked and I FINALLY feel someone better though I’m still coughing. So I had no motivation to blog at all. I was sleeping, a LOT this week – but it’s just me so I had to at least get my kids to school and fed this week.😅 My sweet dog was my cuddle buddy the whole time I was napping two times a day. He knew I was feeling poorly. I just really hate all the coughing that happens at night, ugh it hurts my whole upper body, so I feel like I need a massage after this week.

I did manage to read two books because I would wake up in the middle of the night coughing and couldn’t go back to sleep. So at least I accomplished that!

I hope you all have a good week!

Aloha friends!

The first week of April is crossed off – can you believe it? We are marching towards mid-year huh? My April schedule is – busy. My daughter has her dance recital for the first weekend of May so that means a lot of dance stuff to do this month (pictures, classes, rehearsals). I still feel like I’m in a reading slump and I don’t know if that just means I need a break from reading? Not sure…but we’ll see how April goes!

I hope you all have a good week!

  • Grease 2 (movie) – I was really craving and oldie but goodie and saw that this was on Pluto TV, an app I have NEVER used but it’s on my amazon fire stick so I downloaded it and it’s free because it has ads. It was the perfect movie to watch! I remember being obsessed with Michelle Pfiffer as a young girl, I wanted to be a Pink Lady so bad and have a gorgeous Michael Carrington trying to be a “cool rider” for me. 😂 How do I still know all the lyrics to the songs in this movie?! That’s how many times I watched it in my younger years.
  • I am being FED with music this year! Listening to Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Ariana Grande, Beyonce…what a year for music, and Taylor’s album coming out soon? I can’t wait for what else comes out this year! Now if only I can get myself to a concert 😆 – in this economy?! 💁🏻‍♀️

Aloha friends!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate! This week was kinda chill which was nice and we even went to the pool. Today, I’m taking the kiddos to this indoor playground place where they have the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt, then my sister and mom are coming over for lunch. We will dye eggs, have a mini egg hunt at home, and open easter baskets. ☺️

I hope you all have a good week!

Aloha friends!

And just like that spring break is over! My kids do get a state holiday off this week and Good Friday, so that’s nice, they only have 3 days of school this week. We didn’t do anything special this week, just mostly chilled at home or went to the mall but my kids just wanted to relax at home.

I did get some reading done, not as much as I wanted, but I got some reading done at least. Also dealing with allergies – bleh.

Are we ready to be already 4 months into the year?! 😆 I don’t know if I’m ready.

Have a good week!

I watched this one on St. Patty’s Day and it was a cute rom-com.

I guess I was in a Netflix mood because right after Irish Wish, I watched Damsel! I read the book as an arc last year and it was a cool premise but the way it was written felt like a screenplay and look at that – it was made into a really entertaining movie! I enjoyed much more as a movie than as a book – it has lots of action.

Whoohoo! We made it to spring break! Let me tell you my kids are HAPPY. They just want to sleep in and chill at home, maybe go to the arcade. The past week, my son was battling a cough – then half his class ended up being sick by Friday – so they all went into spring break sick. 😆 I’m just glad my daughter is over her cough!

We are just gonna relax at home and unwind.🥰

Okay – who watched the Eras Tour movie on Disney+ ??

Since this is probably the only way I’ll see the Eras Tour up close and personal, I definitely watched it. It worked out good for me in Hawaii because it dropped at 9pm EST which meant for us here it was 3PM HST which was when my kids and I got home.

It was nicely done and I enjoyed it all! My daughter had her favorites but that girl can’t sit still for a 3 hour movie. My son was sorta watching – he was playing on his ipad and listening at the same time.

Weekly Wrap Up | 3/10/24

Aloha friends!

Another week closer to Spring Break! My kids and I are looking forward to having a break. We have nothing planned since I decided to Japan trip this year – kind of wish I planned it – but it is what it is!

The weather in Hawaii has been surprisingly cool for March! I’d say it’s been the coolest winter we’ve had in a long time and it’s lasted from December to March. We usually have like 2 weeks of winter weather in January which is basically wind, rain and some 69 degree mornings which is cold for us! But it’s been windy again this week, so the hottest it will get is 80 degrees right now and the other day it went up to 82 and it felt like summer. I was like, what is this?! I’m sweating! 😅 Except our summers are usually 88-89 degrees lol…so I think we are getting a bit spoiled with this perfect temperature we have been having.

The other day on the drive to school it was drizzling and cloudy on one side but the nearer we got to the school, the sun was rising and bursting out of the clouds – and I heard my daughter say “mommy, a double rainbow!!!!”. Sure enough in front of us was the most vibrant, huge, complete double rainbow. It was such a nice way to start our morning – it was so bright, and magical and I wanted a picture of it but I was driving. The rainbow was still there when I got home but not as vibrant, and this is what I got. Still pretty but I wish I got the whole thing when we first saw it.

I hope all of you had a good week and have an even better one this week!

I’ve been watching Doctor Slump on Netflix for the past couple weeks and I love the chemistry between these two actors! They are so cute and funny at the same time. Their romance gives me all the feels! 🥰 Also I love all the mental health and family themes in the the show. I wish all the episodes were out so I didn’t have to wait 😅.

Aloha friends!

We are officially three months into the year and I really wished I had booked that Spring Break trip to Tokyo! I am itching to go somewhere. I go no where for 10 years while my babies were babies and now I want to just go go go! 😅

This week went smoothly which is nice. But my daughter get another cold in the 2nd half of the week, so she stayed home from school. Did I get some reading done? Barely! Am I in a slump? Maybe? lol

Have a good week!
