This week’s topic is: Books I’m Worried I Might Not Love as Much the Second Time Around

I’m tweaking this topic a tiny bit this week because I need a topic that doesn’t take much brain power lol. So here are the books I’m pretty sure I’ve re-read the most.

Books I’ve re-read the most

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses by. Sarah J. Maas
  • A Court of Mist and Fury by. Sarah J. Maas
  • A Court of Frost and Starlight by. Sarah J. Maas

  • The Cruel Prince by. Holly Black
  • The Wicked King by. Holly Black
  • The Queen of Nothing by. Holly Black
  • To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by. Jenny Han
  • P.S. I Still Love You by. Jenny Han
  • Always and Forever Lara Jean by. Jenny Han

As you can see my re-reading days were way before my book blogging days and I could actually invest time into reading. I even waited patiently for books in a series to come out, re-read before the next book came out and actually committed to finishing them! Those were good times 😅…now it’s such a struggle to find time to re-read but it is definitely a goal of mine to devote more time to re-reading. I actually want to re-read books I never posted reviews for, so we’ll see if I can do that when I don’t have many arcs to read this year, which will be from April and onwards.

This week’s topic is:

Top Ten Quick Reads/Books to Read When Time is Short

(Books under 150 pages, or if you’re not a novella reader maybe spin this to be books you could read in a day or a single sitting.

These books are under 300 pages, because I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that is under 150? I might be wrong…but I can’t recall at the top of my head a book that is under 150.

  • Six Scorched Roses by. Carissa Broadbent – a novella that is 187 pages
  • Stranger Danger by. Maren Stoffels – 224 pages
  • How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by. Holly Black – 200 pages

  • Woke Up Like This by. Amy Lea – coming in at 300 pages
  • A Festive Feud by. Maren Moore – so many holiday books are quick reads and this one is 222 pages
  • Flip the Script by. Lyla Lee – 296 pages

That’s all I got – I don’t even have 10! I guess I need to read more novellas.

Books I Meant to Read in 2023 but Didn’t Get To  | TTT | 1/23/24

This week’s topic is:

Books I Meant to Read in 2023 but Didn’t Get To

So many books fall into this category for me! I tried my best but just couldn’t get to so many books that I wanted to read. Here are some titles I meant to get to in 2023 but didn’t get a chance to:

  • Nettle & Bone by. T. Kingfisher – this title is available on Kindle Unlimited so I think I still have a chance to get to it but not in 2023, it’s going to have to be in 2024.
  • The Fake Mate by. Lana Ferguson – this was offered to me as a blog tour book but I knew I wouldn’t have a chance to get to it so I didn’t do the blog tour. Kind of wish I did but hopefully I can get a copy of it in 2024.
  • The Atlas Paradox by. Olivie Blake – this is on my online library and I had a copy but let it expire. At least I know I can borrow it again, it’ll have to happen in 2024.

  • From the Grave by. Kresley Cole – I bought this as an ebook but never got to read it yet! It’s the final book in a series and maybe I have no motivation because it’s been so long since the last book was released. I’ll attempt it in 2024.

This week’s topic is:

Bookish Goals for 2024

Honestly, I don’t have any goals for 2024 but just to get through this year. 2023 was filled with so many issues for myself, friends and family and it was stressful! This year will be a little more of the same with me worrying about the health of those I love. I feel like the stress of 2023 really hindered my enjoyment of reading in the second half of 2023 so I want to go into 2024 without too many goals:

#1 – read books I actually want to read, and try not to force it if I’m not feeling a book

#2 – take breaks from blogging when needed

#3 -request less arcs 🙃 (actually did request less in 2023 so I know I can do this)

And that’s all I got really! I want to enjoy reading again and sometimes I think because of all the arcs I sign up for – I find myself not enjoying reading as much.

What are your goals?

We’re already looking at the books we are excited for in the FIRST HALF of 2024! It’s scary to look at a year in “half” because I feel like it makes the year fo faster but here’s what I’m looking forward to this year – at least in the first half.
