Top Ten New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2023

I actually already did a detailed post on this topic but I listed ALL the new authors I read in 2023. Here’s my top 10 favorite new authors I discovered in 2023.

  • Rachel Gillig – I read this duology both this year and loved it!
  • Ana Huang – I finally read a book from this author and ended up reading 2 of them this year. I’m working on the 3rd book.
  • Sara Hashem – this one was a 3.5 star read for me, slow beginning but by the end I was very interested in the story.

  • Nisha J. Tuli – I got to read 3 of her books this year and enjoyed them.
  • Rebecca Yarros – probably my favorite new to me author this year. Read 2 book of hers this year.
  • Julie Soto – I didn’t read many contemporary romance books but this was one of them that I enjoyed and look forward to reading more from this author.
  • Kate Pearsall – I liked this book alot!
  • Sarah Adams – I thought this was a cute romance and would read more from her.
  • Thea Guanzon – this was an interesting story that was sort of hard to get into but I was intrigued and want to see what happens next.
  • Ellen O’Clover – this was such a good YA book – loved it and want to read more from this author.

Books I Meant to Read in 2023 but Didn’t Get To  | TTT | 1/23/24

Books I Meant to Read in 2023 but Didn’t Get To

So many books fall into this category for me! I tried my best but just couldn’t get to so many books that I wanted to read. Here are some titles I meant to get to in 2023 but didn’t get a chance to:

  • Nettle & Bone by. T. Kingfisher – this title is available on Kindle Unlimited so I think I still have a chance to get to it but not in 2023, it’s going to have to be in 2024.
  • The Fake Mate by. Lana Ferguson – this was offered to me as a blog tour book but I knew I wouldn’t have a chance to get to it so I didn’t do the blog tour. Kind of wish I did but hopefully I can get a copy of it in 2024.
  • The Atlas Paradox by. Olivie Blake – this is on my online library and I had a copy but let it expire. At least I know I can borrow it again, it’ll have to happen in 2024.

  • From the Grave by. Kresley Cole – I bought this as an ebook but never got to read it yet! It’s the final book in a series and maybe I have no motivation because it’s been so long since the last book was released. I’ll attempt it in 2024.

This week’s topic is:

Bookish Goals for 2024

Honestly, I don’t have any goals for 2024 but just to get through this year. 2023 was filled with so many issues for myself, friends and family and it was stressful! This year will be a little more of the same with me worrying about the health of those I love. I feel like the stress of 2023 really hindered my enjoyment of reading in the second half of 2023 so I want to go into 2024 without too many goals:

#1 – read books I actually want to read, and try not to force it if I’m not feeling a book

#2 – take breaks from blogging when needed

#3 -request less arcs 🙃 (actually did request less in 2023 so I know I can do this)

And that’s all I got really! I want to enjoy reading again and sometimes I think because of all the arcs I sign up for – I find myself not enjoying reading as much.

What are your goals?
