Atmospheric Books

(The Novelry explains this concept as: “A novel feels atmospheric when the setting and the narrative are deeply involved with one another; when characters and plot are physically embedded in their surroundings, and a near-tangible mood lifts from the pages and wraps itself around the reader.” Study.com explains that, “The atmosphere is how a writer constructs their piece to convey feelings, emotions, and mood to the reader. The atmosphere in literature might be tense, fast-paced, mysterious, spooky, whimsical, or joyful and can be found in poetry, stories, novels, and series.”)

Bookish Jobs I Would Do For Free (Real or Imaginary)   | TTT | 10/10/23

This week’s topic is:

Bookish Jobs I Would Do For Free (Real or Imaginary)

For free?! In this economy?! lol…

  1. Librarian
  2. Archivist
  3. Book Influencer
  4. Shelving books – so I guess like a library assistant.
  5. A book Illustrator
  6. Publisher
  7. Book store owner

That’s all I can really think of. I once upon a time was getting my Masters in Library Science but never continued because some changes in my life but I actually wish I had finished it. I did work at a college library, so I did have a bookish job, but not for free lol.

Reading Goals I Still Want to Accomplish Before the End of the Year  | TTT | 10/3/23

This week’s topic is:

Reading Goals I Still Want to Accomplish Before the End of the Year

These were my goals at the start of 2023:

Here are my goals for 2023:

  1. Hit my reading goals of 52 books a year (that’s a book a week) – I usually end up with way more than 52 so I know that’s doable goal.
  2. I did want to start using the Pango Books app to sell the books I don’t want on my shelves anymore. I downloaded the app but never had the time to start using it. We’ll see if I manage to sell anything on it.
  3. As for my book blog – just to try and stay consistent and on top of things. I would love to add another 100 followers to my follower list this year!
  4. Still going to limit myself on book buying and if I do buy books they will be discounted.
  5. Be more consistent posting on my bookstagram – I never remember to do it! I kind of gave up on checking twitter. I know my posts automatically go there but I’m never there checking my account.

How am I doing?

  • Well I’ve hit my reading goals but I did set them low, so that was easy to achieve!
  • I haven’t tried the Pango app yet to sell books but I really want to try it out before the end of the year. Because I do need to clear my shelf!
  • I did hit 800 followers on my blog this year which was one of my goals! I’l shooting for another 100…
  • I have been limiting myself to book buying though I did splurge at the end of August because there were so many good new releases!
  • Bookstagram? I haven’t done much with it. I post pictures every other month I think but I don’t engage much – there is too much to keep up with! Just doing this blog alone is a lot of work.

Secondary/Minor Characters Who Deserve Their Own Book | TTT | 9/26/23

This week’s topic is:

Secondary/Minor Characters Who Deserve Their Own Book

Who in The Brothers Hawthorne needs their own book? Rohan! He is so intriguing and I’m sure has a crazy backstory. I hope he gets his time to shine.

I think it’s obvious if you read Foxglove that Blythe is going to be the main character in book three and I can’t wait!

I think Alisa should get her own book, even if it’s just a novella. She really grew up in our eyes from These Violent Delights until Foul Heart Huntsman.

I love Hen in The Sweetest Betrayal! I could see her having her own book.

I love The Traitor Queen and I’d have love to have the remaining of Lara’s sisters to have their own books – they deserve happy endings!

I’d love Mira Sorrengail in Fourth Wing to get her own book – she’s so badass and I just want to know her backstory.

These titles below are actually books where the Secondary characters become the main character and have their own books.

Her Radiant Curse tells the story about Raikama from Six Crimson Cranes! In this book she’s Channi, a girl who is cursed.

If you read Malibu Rising then you got a glimpse of Carrie Soto! She gets her own book, as she deserves, in Carrie Soto is Back.

One character stood out to me in The Soulmate EquationFizzy! Fizzy is Jess’s best friend and she absolutely deserved her own book and was amazing in The True Love Experiment.
