The idea is pretty simple, every week you dedicate a post to the three W’s:
What are you currently reading?
What have you just finished reading?
What are you going to read next?
We are coming to mid-December and I have lost my reading mojo fo real! My kids have been sick, my mom just got out of the hospital (but doing so so well 🙏🏼), the school spirit week is next week and holiday parties! And my hubby comes home this Saturday to visit so…I’m tired? lol…oh December – you always do this to me!
My mom had her surgery on Wednesday and it went very well according to the doctor. She’s sore and tired but healing which is the most important thing. She had a problem with getting a room at the hospital after her surgery – it took them a whole day to get her into a room, she was in the recovery room for awhile. Then she got a room and I got to talk to her – I couldn’t visit because my son has a cold and then he stayed home from school because the congestion became that and a sore throat. He’s still kinda dealing with it. But then when I did facetime my mom in the hospital she said her roommate had Covid! They discharged her that afternoon and I’m relieved because I don’t want her having Covid and trying to recover from surgery. Anyway what a week! I’m exhausted.
My husband is flying home this Saturday and will stay for 3 weeks. So that will be nice to have some help around here.
It’s such a busy time because of the holidays and trying to meet up with friends to give them their gifts, the kids and their holiday parties and spirit week and then of course Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Plus my daughter’s birthday…so it’s always chaotic in December. How has December been treating you so far?
The Buccaneers (episode 7) on Apple T – filled with so much drama but I like that it’s a period piece kinda show
10 Things I Hate About You on Amazon Prime Video – watched it for nostalgia
Five Nights at Freddy’s (watched it at home with my son)
The Grinch – because it’s the holidays!
How was your week? Did you get a lot done? Watch anything good? Read any amazing books or books you didn’t finish? What are you reading?…Leave me a comment below!

I’ve been so busy since coming home from vacation but I did manage to finish one book! Yay me 😅. There is just too much going on, but I’m ready for my kids winter break but that’s not for another 2 1/2 weeks. It can’t come soon enough. Let me know what you are reading right now!
We’ve been home since Tuesday (which was a LONG Tuesday) and jumped back into school (fighting jet lag), doctor appointments, tap and piano classes AND my son has his first piano recital TODAY. 😅 My hubby isn’t coming home soon enough (he flies in on the 16th for 3 weeks) I need help lol!
Now my mom is having surgery on Wednesday to remove her right kidney and ureter (the ureter has cancer) and I hope this removes the cancer from her body but it will be about healing for the next few months. SO…my sister will be taking a month off of work since she lives with my parents. And I’m going to try and help out 3-4 times a week, just to give my sister a break. So it will be a busy December for me but we are hopeful that she will come through this strong and healthy! ❤️🙏🏼 I am glad my hubby will be home for 3 weeks so I can focus on my mom.
I hope I can get some reading down but this will probably be the month I read the least compared to the rest of the year, but some things take precedence like being with loved ones, so it is what it is and I’m not stressed about it since books will always be there. I just need to stay on top off arcs but I don’t have a lot of those, so I think I’m good!

I just got back from vacation yesterday and what a trip it was! We had an amazing time and I had no chance to really read. I read on the 9 hour flight going to Osaka, but coming home it was a 5 hour trip and I actually was so exhausted I knocked out. So I’m back and I have so much Christmas stuff to do, Hanukkah too – just so much shopping to do. Tis the season! 😅 We’ll see what books I can finish this week…
I think it’s funny how holiday romance books get published in October! I really wish they would publish in November since in October I am mostly in my spooky vibes season. Here are the very few holiday romance books I’ve read this year.
Lonely-hearted waitress Katie Smith has nowhere to go for Christmas, and a huge crush on her gorgeous diner patron Juan Martinez. So when Juan asks Katie to pose as his girlfriend for holiday festivities at his family’s winery, Katie leaps at the chance… that is, until an accident lands Juan in a coma right after giving his folks the “news.”
Katie knows she should tell the Martinezes the truth, but when they immediately embrace her, Katie is reluctant to let her fantasy of a family holiday go. And then there’s Juan’s brother, Mateo, whose smile tugs at her heartstrings just right—and who tells her perfect Juan might not be everything he seems.
Second son Mateo Martinez loves his brother, but Juan’s plan to “rebrand and expand” Los Cielos Cellars has cost their family too much and put its entire tradition in jeopardy. Katie seems to understand, but she’s still committed to Juan… even when Mateo starts to wish her gentle heart and beautiful smile were committed to him instead.
With the winery at stake, secrets on all sides, and Juan due to wake up any day, can Katie and Mateo follow their hearts to a Christmas miracle, or will this mix-up ruin their chances?
‘The Sun Is Also a Star’ meets ‘You’ve Got Mail’ in this YA Christmas love story set in a London Black-owned bookshop.
Charming, handsome Trey Anderson balances the pressures of school popularity with a job at his family’s beloved local bookshop, Wonderland.
Quirky, creative Ariel Spencer needs tuition for the prestigious art program of her dreams, and an opening at Wonderland is the answer. When Trey and Ariel learn that Wonderland is on the brink of being shut down by a neighborhood gentrifier, they team up to stop the doors from closing before the Christmas Eve deadline—and embark on a hate-to-love journey that will change them forever.
Heartwarming and romantic, this read is the gift that keeps on giving, no matter the season.
A sexy, hilarious standalone holiday rom-com about the adult children of two former rock stars who team up to convince their estranged mothers to play a Christmas Eve concert…
Melody Gallard may be the daughter of music royalty, but her world is far from glamorous. She spends her days restoring old books and avoiding the limelight (one awkward tabloid photo was enough, thanks). But when a producer offers her a lot of money to reunite her mother’s band on live tv, Mel begins to wonder if it’s time to rattle the cage, shake up her quiet life… and see him again. The only other person who could wrangle the rock and roll divas.
Beat Dawkins, the lead singer’s son, is Melody’s opposite—the camera loves him, he could charm the pants off anyone, and his mom is not a potential cult leader. Still, they might have been best friends if not for the legendary feud that broke up the band. When they met as teenagers, Mel felt an instant spark, but it’s nothing compared to the wild, intense attraction that builds as they embark on a madcap mission to convince their mothers to perform one last show.
While dealing with rock star shenanigans, a 24-hour film crew, brawling Santas, and mobs of adoring fans, Mel starts to step out of her comfort zone. With Beat by her side, cheering her on, she’s never felt so understood. But Christmas Eve is fast approaching, and a decades-old scandal is poised to wreck everything—the Steel Birds reunion, their relationships with their mothers, and their newfound love.
I am finally 99% better! I say 99% because I still sound stuffy but that could just be allergies. I’ve been doing last minute shopping for our trip and making sure I have everything set before we leave on Tuesday. I’m excited but also already exhausted lol…why is going on vacation always so exhausting? Especially when you are the one planning the trip!
I’ve been so busy thinking about the trip that I forgot that Thanksgiving is next week and Black Friday! I guess I’m going to do my Christmas shopping late this year. But I’ll worry about that when I come back. There is just so much to do plus my mom has surgery a week after we come back from our trip.
I hope all of you have a good week and thanks for reading!

I finally feel about 90% recovered – thank goodness because it was an awful past two weeks. Thank you to Flonase, my nose has stopped dripping – but now I have the sinus headache – it’s getting better though. My cough is 95% gone and I can finally get a good night’s sleep.
We are headed to Osaka, Japan next Tuesday, and I’m just trying to make sure I have everything I need for the kids and my parents who are joining me. It should be a fun trip – the highlight will probably be Universal Studios because my kids are so excited to go to Super Nintendo World!
I finally got a copy of Iron Flame after cancelling my pre-orders (that was shipping out as fast as I would like). I got an ebook which works for me. I’m still not in the reading mood yet because I’m trying to get a lot of things done before my trip! So we shall see what I can finish up reading this week.
Okay well this week was better but my coughing got worse so it was another miserable week. My kids had a 4 day weekend but I did manage to go to urgent care after I was just tired of coughing. Apparently I’ve been dealing with allergic rhinitis on top of the virus that I was dealing with and the wildfire smoke made it way worse. So all that post nasal drip from my nose was just aggravating my coughing. The wildfire is out though and the doctor prescribed me some flonase because she said my nasal tissues were just inflamed. So let’s hope this will speed up my recovery before my trip! I feel better already!
I’ve been waiting for copy of the special edition of Fourth Wing and the Iron Flame books from Amazon and both have been delayed. Then I saw on tiktok how so many people were getting misprinted books and that made me cancel my orders, since I wasn’t getting them anytime soon anyway. Oh well, so I bought the Iron Flame ebook instead because I don’t have to wait for that!
I hope all of you have a good week and thanks for reading!

Ugh so pretty sure I got the flu last week, was recovering this weekend and still not quite 100% so my desire to read is just nonexistent. I did finish some arcs but I’m really excited to get my copy of Iron Flame which is my most anticipated read this year.
