Weekly Wrap Up | 3/24/24

Aloha friends!

And just like that spring break is over! My kids do get a state holiday off this week and Good Friday, so that’s nice, they only have 3 days of school this week. We didn’t do anything special this week, just mostly chilled at home or went to the mall but my kids just wanted to relax at home.

I did get some reading done, not as much as I wanted, but I got some reading done at least. Also dealing with allergies – bleh.

Are we ready to be already 4 months into the year?! 😆 I don’t know if I’m ready.

Have a good week!

I watched this one on St. Patty’s Day and it was a cute rom-com.

I guess I was in a Netflix mood because right after Irish Wish, I watched Damsel! I read the book as an arc last year and it was a cool premise but the way it was written felt like a screenplay and look at that – it was made into a really entertaining movie! I enjoyed much more as a movie than as a book – it has lots of action.

Aloha friends!

Whoohoo! We made it to spring break! Let me tell you my kids are HAPPY. They just want to sleep in and chill at home, maybe go to the arcade. The past week, my son was battling a cough – then half his class ended up being sick by Friday – so they all went into spring break sick. 😆 I’m just glad my daughter is over her cough!

We are just gonna relax at home and unwind.🥰

Okay – who watched the Eras Tour movie on Disney+ ??

Since this is probably the only way I’ll see the Eras Tour up close and personal, I definitely watched it. It worked out good for me in Hawaii because it dropped at 9pm EST which meant for us here it was 3PM HST which was when my kids and I got home.

It was nicely done and I enjoyed it all! My daughter had her favorites but that girl can’t sit still for a 3 hour movie. My son was sorta watching – he was playing on his ipad and listening at the same time.

Aloha friends!

Another week closer to Spring Break! My kids and I are looking forward to having a break. We have nothing planned since I decided to Japan trip this year – kind of wish I planned it – but it is what it is!

The weather in Hawaii has been surprisingly cool for March! I’d say it’s been the coolest winter we’ve had in a long time and it’s lasted from December to March. We usually have like 2 weeks of winter weather in January which is basically wind, rain and some 69 degree mornings which is cold for us! But it’s been windy again this week, so the hottest it will get is 80 degrees right now and the other day it went up to 82 and it felt like summer. I was like, what is this?! I’m sweating! 😅 Except our summers are usually 88-89 degrees lol…so I think we are getting a bit spoiled with this perfect temperature we have been having.

The other day on the drive to school it was drizzling and cloudy on one side but the nearer we got to the school, the sun was rising and bursting out of the clouds – and I heard my daughter say “mommy, a double rainbow!!!!”. Sure enough in front of us was the most vibrant, huge, complete double rainbow. It was such a nice way to start our morning – it was so bright, and magical and I wanted a picture of it but I was driving. The rainbow was still there when I got home but not as vibrant, and this is what I got. Still pretty but I wish I got the whole thing when we first saw it.

I hope all of you had a good week and have an even better one this week!

I’ve been watching Doctor Slump on Netflix for the past couple weeks and I love the chemistry between these two actors! They are so cute and funny at the same time. Their romance gives me all the feels! 🥰 Also I love all the mental health and family themes in the the show. I wish all the episodes were out so I didn’t have to wait 😅.

Monthly Wrap Up | February 2024

February went by quick and was filled with so many activities and some illnesses but for the most part the month was good. As for books? I got some re-reading done and I was just working through arcs which for the most part were just okay reads. I have less arcs to read in the next few months so I hope I can read other books. But I had some really good reads in February which is nice!

Hope all of you had a good month!

Aloha friends!

We are officially three months into the year and I really wished I had booked that Spring Break trip to Tokyo! I am itching to go somewhere. I go no where for 10 years while my babies were babies and now I want to just go go go! 😅

This week went smoothly which is nice. But my daughter get another cold in the 2nd half of the week, so she stayed home from school. Did I get some reading done? Barely! Am I in a slump? Maybe? lol

Have a good week!

Aloha friends!

Here we are in the last weekend of February and wow, are we ready for March?! I’m ready for spring break but I don’t know if I’m ready that after March that means my kids only have 2 more months of school and summer will be here. 😒 My son will be going to middle school in August! I’m shocked, sad, but happy for him too but wow are my kids growing up so fast. 🥲

The good thing about this year going fast is my hubby will be home at the end of this year! Yay!

We had a packed weekend already with doctor appointments, tap and piano and Sunday school so 😅. I’ll be ready for spring break very soon!

Have a good week!

Aloha friends!

What a week. I got a massage on Super Bowl Sunday which was nice, and then I watched the game at home. It was a long game and the first half was boring, unless you like a defensive game. But it was a nail biting finish! Anyway, next day I took my kids to the beach because my daughter has been itching to go and they got a day off from school which was nice.

We got there at 8am because I wanted to get parking. But 8am means the water is still cold – I mean Hawaii mornings are kind of like 72 degrees and then it warms up to the 80’s right now. My kids went into the water and I was like…nope…it’s too cold! 😅 It was such a nice morning without anyone there and we needed this beach morning for real.

Then there was Valentine’s Day – my hubby got his gift in time, and he said he found these amazing chocolates for the kids but he couldn’t send it in time for Vday. But it’s coming! And he got my an amazon gift card so I can buy books. YAY! I did get my kids some goodies and they loved it and felt loved and that’s all that matters!

I’m looking forward to this holiday weekend because my kids get 2 days off which means they get a 4 day weekend. I can’t believe we are almost in March.

Have a good week!

Aloha friends!

I had to take a break after finishing HoFaS since that was such a big book. The break was nice! Now I’ve reset myself and am ready to tackle the last 2 February arcs I have and the ones I have for March. There are a few new releases I also want to read but I’m trying not to spend money. I’m wondering if I have the patient to wait for it at the library. 😆 We shall see!

Today is the Super Bowl and I’m not really rooting for either team. I’m just there for the entertainment of it all and seeing Usher perform will be fun too.  May the best team win!

Have a good week!

Monthly Wrap Up | January 2024

January was about getting kids back into school and their tap and piano activities. Getting used to my hubby not being around again and then my daughter got the stomach flu in the second week of the month and then a cold on the last day of the month lol. My son at least has been illness free which is so nice!

As far as reading goes – I got to read all my arcs on time, which I’m proud of! There was a moment there I didn’t think I’d feel motivated enough to read them but I did.

As for this blog this is what I posted–

Weekly Wrap Up | 2/4/24

Aloha friends!

I was planning to drop everything to read House of Flame and Shadow and that didn’t happen lol.

There was this whole week of anxiety because my hubby who said no trips to Japan this year so we can recoup what we spent in 2023, told me to book a trip because our daughter is having a hard time again with him being gone again. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So after a few days of trying to find reasonable flights and hotels for either spring break or end of May – and the trip being a trip for the 4 of us turning into a trip for 8 people (parents and nephews wanted to come) – I said forget it. It’s cheaper and easier for HIM to come home at the end of May because it’s the kids last week of school plus our son’s 5th grade graduation and we decided on that.

After deciding on all of that, I finally started House of Flame and Shadow and I’m halfway through!

Have a good week!
