Bookish Jobs I Would Do For Free (Real or Imaginary)
For free?! In this economy?! lol…
Librarian
Archivist
Book Influencer
Shelving books – so I guess like a library assistant.
A book Illustrator
Publisher
Book store owner
That’s all I can really think of. I once upon a time was getting my Masters in Library Science but never continued because some changes in my life but I actually wish I had finished it. I did work at a college library, so I did have a bookish job, but not for free lol.

Reading Goals I Still Want to Accomplish Before the End of the Year
These were my goals at the start of 2023:
Here are my goals for 2023:
Hit my reading goals of 52 books a year (that’s a book a week) – I usually end up with way more than 52 so I know that’s doable goal.
I did want to start using the Pango Books app to sell the books I don’t want on my shelves anymore. I downloaded the app but never had the time to start using it. We’ll see if I manage to sell anything on it.
As for my book blog – just to try and stay consistent and on top of things. I would love to add another 100 followers to my follower list this year!
Still going to limit myself on book buying and if I do buy books they will be discounted.
Be more consistent posting on my bookstagram – I never remember to do it! I kind of gave up on checking twitter. I know my posts automatically go there but I’m never there checking my account.
How am I doing?
Well I’ve hit my reading goals but I did set them low, so that was easy to achieve!
I haven’t tried the Pango app yet to sell books but I really want to try it out before the end of the year. Because I do need to clear my shelf!
I did hit 800 followers on my blog this year which was one of my goals! I’l shooting for another 100…
I have been limiting myself to book buying though I did splurge at the end of August because there were so many good new releases!
Bookstagram? I haven’t done much with it. I post pictures every other month I think but I don’t engage much – there is too much to keep up with! Just doing this blog alone is a lot of work.

This week’s topic is:
Secondary/Minor Characters Who Deserve Their Own Book
Who in The Brothers Hawthorne needs their own book? Rohan! He is so intriguing and I’m sure has a crazy backstory. I hope he gets his time to shine.
I think it’s obvious if you read Foxglove that Blythe is going to be the main character in book three and I can’t wait!
I think Alisa should get her own book, even if it’s just a novella. She really grew up in our eyes from These Violent Delights until Foul Heart Huntsman.
I love Hen in The Sweetest Betrayal! I could see her having her own book.
I love The Traitor Queen and I’d have love to have the remaining of Lara’s sisters to have their own books – they deserve happy endings!
I’d love Mira Sorrengail in Fourth Wing to get her own book – she’s so badass and I just want to know her backstory.
These titles below are actually books where the Secondary characters become the main character and have their own books.
Her Radiant Curse tells the story about Raikama from Six Crimson Cranes! In this book she’s Channi, a girl who is cursed.
If you read Malibu Rising then you got a glimpse of Carrie Soto! She gets her own book, as she deserves, in Carrie Soto is Back.
One character stood out to me in The Soulmate Equation…Fizzy! Fizzy is Jess’s best friend and she absolutely deserved her own book and was amazing in The True Love Experiment.
Have you read any of these books? Are any of these on your TBR? What’s on your TTT?

I felt like we got lucky to get two books from this series in ONE year! Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros is probably the most anticipated books this year…at least to us Fourth Wing fans! lol

Favorite Character Relationships
I love Rosalind and Oliver in the Foul Heart Huntsman – they go through some tough times in the series but they are too funny and cute together.
Vanja and Emeric from Painted Devils are my favorite partners in crime against the supernatural! She’s snarky and he’s uptight and together they are perfect for one another.
Fizzy and Connor in The True Love Experiment make an amazing couple, but Fizzy and her best friend Jess? True Love indeed.
Tilly and Oliver in Tilly in Technicolor are the cutest couple.
Violet and Zaden from Fourth Wing are electric!
Patroclus and Achilles – every time I see Song of Achilles, my heart hurts for these two young men.
Marcus and Teriana from Gilded Serpent are so amazing and I’ve been waiting forever it feels to see what happens next in this series. 😭 I just want them to be alive and in love.
Iris and Roman in Divine Rivals are one of my new favorites.
Zahru and Kasta from The Sweetest Betrayal but also Zahru and her friends/found family.
Tara and Trevor from Exes & O’s are such a fun couple and one of my favorites this year!

This week’s topic is:
Books That Defied My Expectations
(books you thought you would didn’t like that you loved, books you thought you’d love but didn’t, books that were not the genres they seemed to be, or in any other way subverted your expectations!)
I loved Unholy Terrors but I was worried I wouldn’t because for one, I didn’t particularly love the cover, but I did like the synopsis so I requested it hoping it would be a dark read and wasn’t disappointed. But my worry for disappointment was because I had just finished this authors last book, Forestfall, and didn’t love it. I was hoping to love Forestfall since I loved the first book, but it fell flat for me.
I heard so many good things about Seven Percent of Ro Devereux and I went in not knowing to expect and absolutely loved it, so I’m happy about that!
I got Stealing Infinity on Kindle Unlimited. I love the cover but wasn’t sure about the time-jumping aspect of the story but one day I decided to try it, despite it having some bad reviews but you know what? It wasn’t that bad!
I got Fourth Wing I think just as the hype was building and I’m glad I’m jumped on it because it’s one of my most favorite book of 2023. Usually I avoid the hype for a good few months but there was something about this one that sounded good and it lived up to expectations.
Immortal Longings made me go through some things. I was expecting a lot because it’s Chloe Gong and I was not feeling it at all. I almost DNF’ed the book! But something told me to just push through and the second half made it up for me. So it was definitely not what I expected.
The twin trope is not my favorite so I was hesitant to read Twin Crowns but I actually enjoyed the story a lot!
I’ve read the first series by Amelie Wen Zhao and went into Song of Silver, Flame Like Night with no expectations, except I did love the cover. And I loved this story more than expected! Looking forward to book two.
The Poppy War was all over book blogs and I didn’t know what to expect when I decided to finally read it but wow, what a book! It exceeded any expectation I had!
It’s a gorgeous cover and I love her other work, but The Last Tale of the Flower Bride was sadly, a DNF for me.

Books with a Love Triangle
I”m doing this post while watching That Summer I Turn Pretty, Season 2 on Prime Video. Oh the dreaded LOVE TRIANGLE. I actually 90% love a good love triangle because of the angst and push and pull but sometimes I really hate it. Like in this show lol…because it’s between 2 brothers, which I hate :(…but I’m gonna watch it anyway because I loved the first season. So here are some books with a love triangle:
Do you like or loathe love triangles?? Let me know in the comments!

Book Cover with the Sun
I don’t have the mental capacity to do the actual TTT topic this week, so I’m going with something SUPER easy and still summer themed. Here are book covers with the sun in the title or on the cover. Enjoy your summer!

Books I’ve Read/Want to Read Because of Top Ten Tuesday
I tried Taylor Jenkins Reid books because of people recommending all her books on TTT!
And I finally knocked these titles off my TBR list because I’ve been highly influenced by TTT!
Here are some books I want to read and hope I can eventually get to them this year!
