Top Ten Movies/TV Shows That Would Have Made Amazing Books | TTT | 3/26/24

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Please check out her website for more TTT topics!

This week’s topic is:

Movies/TV Shows That Would Have Made Amazing Books

Yikes this is a harder topic than I thought because all the movies and shows I’m thinking of originated from books! As you can see from my list below I went with movies from the 1980’s-early 2000’s. I loved these movies from when I was young and if any of them were books first, please let me know in the comments below!

Cruel Intentions – this one was dark but so juicy!

10 Things I Hate About You – so much fun and such a cute romance.

She’s All That – classic unpopular girl and popular guy!

Sixteen Candles – where my love for teen romances started!

Pretty in Pink – Blaine? lol…oh the rich boy names in the 80’s!

Never Been Kissed – I loved this movie!

The Craft – witchcraft and girls in private school? Total book material!

My Best Friend’s Wedding – when the MC doesn’t get the guy in the end but it’s still an amazing and touching story!

Sleepless in Seattle – a classic! Two characters who never meet until the end in a time pre-cell phones!

You’ve Got Mail – another classic in the age of AOL – lol…

Oh boy did I just show my age in this post but I really did grow up in the time when movies were so much fun and the stories were so good. I remember always going to the movies with my girlfriends to catch the latest rom-coms. Good times!

  1. LOVE your pics!! I’ve read a book or two with the Cruel Intentions vibe and several inspired partly by You’ve Got Mail. They definitely would have made for great books!
