Ten Most Recent Books I Did Not Finish
I just borrowed The Demon Tide but it’s a huge book! It’s 672 pages and I read two chapters and I feel lost because the last book in the series I read back in 2020 – it’s been 3 years and I don’t feel like rereading that book to get caught up to read this one. So…I may have to return it without finishing it until I get in the mood to read it.
A Ship of Bones and Teeth is a dark fantasy romance, a retelling of The Little Mermaid. And I thought it would be fun to read a smutty Little Mermaid version but I thought twice and said nah…I kind of didn’t want to ruin the story in my mind with lots of spicy sex lol. So I’m not going to read it.
Pestilence is a book I’ve seen on KU for forever and then for some reason it’s on Netgalley and I decided to give it a try. The first two chapters made me realize fast that it’s not for me. I just wasn’t jelling with how the story was being told, I guess. Anyway, I DNF’ed.
I try to borrow a bunch on KU because I have to get my money’s worth right? So I got The Crown of Oaths and Curses and Fae Heir because I love Fae romances but these just didn’t hold my interest at all. I think I just wasn’t into how it was written.
Gilded is a book I’ve borrowed twice now and I still haven’t finished it and I think I should just give up and not even try.

I think I finished Gilded? I might have dnfed it lol. I just couldn’t get into it.
Yeah I tried a few times to get into it but I have finally given up lol
I just saw Gilded on another blog’s TTT for today too. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Marissa Meyer but this has me hesitant now. 😅
This week’s topic definitely has me feeling a little better about giving up on a book if I’m not feeling it though.

The only book on my TBR is Gilded and I actually haven’t seen much about it. I loved Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles and I think I probably have high expectations based on how much I enjoyed that, so I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy it. Nervous to give it a try honestly 😂
