What did you think of I’m the Girl? I’ve seen some mixed reviews for it, but it looks interesting
I was left with all kinds of emotions – mostly anger. Thing is, it’s an important story because it talks about grooming, rape, sexual assault and so forth. The synopsis poses the question to the reader: if this is the way the world is, do you accept it? Our main character is the girl who does accept it…and it’s so frustrating because it’s told through her POV and I wanted to shake her so many times. So in a way, it’s powerful…but such a triggering story. 😦
