Lately hate crimes against the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islanders) community has been dominating the news front. As a Filipino-American, this hits close to home and yet…living in Hawaii I feel also removed from it because we here in the islands are dominantly AAPI. So as I watch the news, and see the mass shootings, or see the elderly asian people being targeted, it saddens and angers me. Why does this keep happening? But I’ve been asking why since I was a child – why do people hate people?
I just wanted to show my support for the AAPI community in a way on this blog, so here are some books by asian authors that I love:

One of the best things about starting this blog and joining the book community was finding a bunch of authors I had not been familiar, authors of all ethnicities. Finding all these blogs or bookstagram accounts showcasing different genres and authors really opened my book world up even further. Now my reading world is much bigger than it’s ever been and that’s a lovely thing.
Let’s always try to be better and spread love instead of hate. ♥️

These Violent Delights was an awesome debut. I might check out Bone Witch. Love the thriller, horror vibes I’m getting from that book cover.
Definitely push through Bone Witch, I gave up on it the first time reading it but picked it up again later and flew through the series and I loved it!
Great list! So many good books one here! And quite some I still have to read, like The Silvered Serpents and the Damned (but first need to read book one haha)

These Violent Delights was amazing and I am so excited to read the next book in the series. I liked The Bone Witch too but I’ve not got around to the second book yet. Hoping I will soon though.
