It’s November! Woohoo! That means birthday month for me, my best friend, a few other friends and cousins. So many celebrations this month plus I’ll be dog sitting a beautiful, sweet husky named Maya. My family and I can’t wait – we miss having a furry friend in our home.

It’s the LAST Friday of October! Can you believe that? I can’t and we have a jam packed weekend and last week of October. It is Scorpio season which means my birthday is in less than two weeks. 😲 For my birthday I just want a sick-free ending of 2019 haha.

I’m having a hard time finishing up my library hauls on time lately! And I don’t know why I keep borrowing more books.
We’ll see if I even have time to get to this one. It’s the sequel to Rule and here is the book blurb:

Aloha fellow readers and bloggers and everyone out there! How are YOU? I hope everyone is having an awesome October so far.
Just when I think my kids are over the illnesses they came down with in September something else happens. I guess my daughter is allergic to her antibiotic but she had a late reaction because she was at the end of her treatment and flared up yesterday in hives! Poor kiddo, but she is in a much better mood than I ever was when I had hives for week when I was around 8 or 9 years old. My doctors never figured out what triggered it either! I remember the itching drove me mad and I would cry from the welts. She’s barely bothered by it, except for the ones on her knees and elbows. Anyway I hope it’s out of her system soon because…mommy needs a break! 😩 That’s how the start of my October has been! I hope yours has been way better!
I am very excited seeing all the houses decorate for Halloween though! My son is still afraid of some of the decorations but my daughter loves all of it. Such opposites, but I hope we just all get better so we can enjoy the festivities this month. 🎃

Happy Autumn and Aloha Friday everyone! Wow…what a September so far. Was trying to get my son better because he had a cold, and we finally got a handle on it last week. He’s much better but his little sister got sick this past weekend. So off to the doctor we went yesterday and she has an ear infection. I feel like I’m coming down with whatever she has and trying desperately not to. It gives me an excuse to read though! I’m definitely more in the mood to read than review though. 📚

I got this book in OwlCrate’s September box that graced my mailbox this past weekend! AND instead of the black cover I got a white cover. It’s gorgeous. I don’t have the black cover to compare but I think both covers look amazing and I’ve heard good things about this book. Can’t wait to dig in…but I will dig in AFTER I read Serpent & Dove, because I really need to read that book. HAHA…have a wonderful weekend everyone!

My son was down with a cold for half the week, so that’s what I was dealing with. But it gave me time to read since he finally rested a little.
So I’ve been on a weird spectrum with the books I’m reading. It’s either ya dark fantasy or light contemporary ya books lately. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m trying to finish up the contemporary stuff so I can just be all in with the darker themed books. It’s getting me in the mood for Halloween, which is one of my favorite holidays. Here are some lines from a book I am dying to read:

Friday for me couldn’t come soon enough this week! It was a short school week for my son because it was a holiday week, but we spent the last weekend at a hotel in busy Waikiki which is tourist central on our island. It was SO packed with people and my sister and her family had a room at the hotel as well so it was a family affair!
I barely slept for our two nights there but it was good to get away from our routine for a bit. I haven’t gone on a trip since my son was born, seven years ago! So I have major island fever. But I’m back in the routine and reading again. Let’s see if I can get some reviews up on this blog and some fun book tags that I’ve been seeing on my fellow bloggers’ sites! Aloha Friday everyone! It’s the LAST Friday of August, hooray! The closer I can get to cooler weather here in Hawaii, the better, except that may not happen for another 2 months. Yes, it’s usually hot and humid even on Halloween – it makes trick or treating really gross.
Speaking of Halloween – I already got decorations from Target, yup and my daughter, bless her sweet little heart, loves pumpkins. She’s been playing with our pumpkin decorations all week and it’s still summer. It’s hot, I’m tired and I’m just trudging through this heat, staying on top of my son’s homework and yesterday I had to take everything out of the closet because we might have termites in the floor. Yup. SO much FUN – not. It was exhausting but I definitely got to throw out things, and I’m going to donate a lot of stuff too. I guess it’s time to rip out the carpet (This house is only 6 years old! ugh 😩) like my hubby and I have been planning and put the nice flooring we’ve been wanting to since we bought the house.
Anyway enough of that – this weekend is the LAST birthday celebration for my son, he had two weeks of cake, fun with family visiting from out of state, more cake and now with our Hawaii family, we are going to hang out in Waikiki for Labor Day weekend to celebrate his birthday with them. Ladies and gents, I will be getting a margarita or Mai Tai or mojito or something tropical that will make me feel like I’m on vacation, because…I deserve it. 🏝🍹⛱ (honestly I’m so tired of the sun though haha)

Happy Aloha Friday everyone! What a week! We have visiting family from New York and California, so it’s been busy around here. We have been hanging out at the beach a lot and since my son turns 7 years old in five days and our family leave this weekend, we have been doing birthday celebrations. Lucky him, he’s having the best birthday ever I think. 🤗

Happy Friday book lovers! Another week in August is coming to an end and I just learned my son will have a spelling test every Friday. 😩 That emoji is the face I will be making every Thursday when I tell him it’s time to study for his test. 😂 I can already picture his face of annoyance. I am slowly savoring this tale of Circe, I can see why so many people love it. I haven’t read a Greek mythology retelling in awhile because I felt like there was so much out there already. But this one feels fresh and the writing is beautiful, my goodness Circe’s siblings are such bullies though! Okay gotta get back to my book so I can write up a review for it soon. 😘 Have a lovely weekend everyone!
