It’s November! Woohoo! That means birthday month for me, my best friend, a few other friends and cousins. So many celebrations this month plus I’ll be dog sitting a beautiful, sweet husky named Maya. My family and I can’t wait – we miss having a furry friend in our home.

So let’s see – I got in some library books so I’ll randomly pick one. Here are the lines:

It’s the LAST Friday of October! Can you believe that? I can’t and we have a jam packed weekend and last week of October. It is Scorpio season which means my birthday is in less than two weeks. 😲 For my birthday I just want a sick-free ending of 2019 haha.

I’m having a hard time finishing up my library hauls on time lately! And I don’t know why I keep borrowing more books.

We’ll see if I even have time to get to this one. It’s the sequel to Rule and here is the book blurb:

I am 60% done with this and hopefully will finish soon. I am approved to read the sequel on NetGalley so I definitely needed to bump this TBR up my list. It’s intriguing and definitely not what I was expecting but I think in a good way so far.

What have you finished reading?

This releases in January 2020 so my review will post nearer to the publication date. But I was surprised by this book – I enjoyed it! Here is the book blurb:

We are nearing Halloween! And the stores already have Christmas decorations up. 😅

This cover is so good! So I finally saw this at my library and I’ve been wanting to read it since it released but I think it’s the perfect fall read since it’s supposed to be creepy. Have you read it?

Unboxing | LitJoy Crate | September Box 2019

Hello fellow book lovers and bloggers, here we have another unboxing, but this time it’s for the LitJoy Crate September box. Let’s see what goodies were inside my box!

My daughter calls my book boxes the “treasure box”. She loves unboxing it with me and yes she plays with the box and shredded paper in it afterwards. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But look at this box! The theme is called Haunted Manor and I’m loving the purple color scheme. Very Halloween, don’t you think? I know most people do the orange and black for Halloween but I love the purple decorations too!

I love when my box has wearable items like these scrunches! Super cute!

This scarf is my favorite item in the box – look at that ombre purple color and the print! It celebrates the 50th anniversary of Disney’s Haunted Mansion ride! I’m definitely keeping this one for myself, even though it’s blazing hot in Hawaii during Halloween. 😂 Maybe one day when I make my way over to Disneyland for October I can wear it there!

Here we have the smaller items in the box: a ghostbusters patch, a Nightmare Before Christmas bookmark with Zero on the back of it (@brianamoraart), two collector’s cards (artwork by Niru Sky @niru.sky) and the cutest page flag set of the Addam’s Family!

And last but not least is this gorgeous signed copy of A Treason of Thorns by Laura E. Weymouth. The card has a note from the author on the back and the inside jacket cover, like most LitJoy Crate book versions, is gorgeous. See below…

Gorgeous right? And I love these drawstring book bags LitJoy Crate puts their books in. This month it’s an aqua color but I think the first box I got from them it was blue like the LitJoy Crate box. Super useful and cute!

What do you think of this box? I thought it was a great box, and definitely love the scarf. I hope the book is good as well – review will be up for it as soon as I can get to it (life’s been crazy busy lately!). I look forward to next month’s box!

Aloha fellow readers and bloggers and everyone out there! How are YOU? I hope everyone is having an awesome October so far.

Just when I think my kids are over the illnesses they came down with in September something else happens. I guess my daughter is allergic to her antibiotic but she had a late reaction because she was at the end of her treatment and flared up yesterday in hives! Poor kiddo, but she is in a much better mood than I ever was when I had hives for week when I was around 8 or 9 years old. My doctors never figured out what triggered it either! I remember the itching drove me mad and I would cry from the welts. She’s barely bothered by it, except for the ones on her knees and elbows. Anyway I hope it’s out of her system soon because…mommy needs a break! 😩 That’s how the start of my October has been! I hope yours has been way better!

I am very excited seeing all the houses decorate for Halloween though! My son is still afraid of some of the decorations but my daughter loves all of it. Such opposites, but I hope we just all get better so we can enjoy the festivities this month. 🎃

Happy Friday the 13th everyone! 🌕 Isn’t it also a full moon tonight?

My son was down with a cold for half the week, so that’s what I was dealing with. But it gave me time to read since he finally rested a little.

So I’ve been on a weird spectrum with the books I’m reading. It’s either ya dark fantasy or light contemporary ya books lately. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m trying to finish up the contemporary stuff so I can just be all in with the darker themed books. It’s getting me in the mood for Halloween, which is one of my favorite holidays. Here are some lines from a book I am dying to read:

Friday for me couldn’t come soon enough this week! It was a short school week for my son because it was a holiday week, but we spent the last weekend at a hotel in busy Waikiki which is tourist central on our island. It was SO packed with people and my sister and her family had a room at the hotel as well so it was a family affair!

I barely slept for our two nights there but it was good to get away from our routine for a bit. I haven’t gone on a trip since my son was born, seven years ago! So I have major island fever. But I’m back in the routine and reading again. Let’s see if I can get some reviews up on this blog and some fun book tags that I’ve been seeing on my fellow bloggers’ sites! With that said…let’s get the lines!

Happy Aloha Friday everyone! What a week! We have visiting family from New York and California, so it’s been busy around here. We have been hanging out at the beach a lot and since my son turns 7 years old in five days and our family leave this weekend, we have been doing birthday celebrations. Lucky him, he’s having the best birthday ever I think. 🤗

Hi everyone! So I changed the look of my blog – wanted it to look a bit summery but with a cool color palette. It’s been so hot and humid in Hawaii, I’m ready for winter. I say winter because we hardly get seasons. Fall feels like an extension of summer. 😅 Hope you all are staying cool wherever you are. I just got a nice book haul from Book Outlet come in the mail today so I’m gonna choose a book from my box to feature today.
