Is it STILL January? I’m so over it – this month has been the LONGEST ever. The daily news gets me stressed so I haven’t really had the motivation to read. And oh also, my son said someone at his school is drawing swastikas in the boys bathroom and their teacher had to give them a talk. So yeah…with the news, Elon Musk’s “gesture” 😡, and just everything else – I am over it….SIGH…let this month be over, please.
But since it’s Lunar New Year, Kung Hei Fat Choy to those who celebrate it! Here is what I am trying to read and I do try but I haven’t been in the right mood, so it’s been very slow going. I thought I would be finished with Onyx Storm by now but I’m not. Hope you are having a good week so far!

Onyx Storm by. Rebecca Yarros (owned) – 40%, I’m not gonna lie – this one isn’t hitting as I thought it would. 🫠
A Tropical Rebel Gets the Duke by. Arianna Herrera – 41% – this one is a cute one so far, love the chemistry!
A Court Bright and Broken by. Amy Patrick – 1% – just started this one.

Yes! I don’t know where all these 5 stars are coming from when it comes to Onyx Storm. I’m over 60% and it’s been mostly boring… so we will see how it ends, but it’s going to be lucky to get anything over a 4 star!
Okay so it’s not only me!! I’m at 50% and want to put it aside lol…it’s been a struggle sigh…
I have put it down so many times. I have been going back to my auidobooks. It’s just a slog to get through. I’m at like 70% today and it’s picking up *a little* sigh
Agree it is a slog! Hey you’re doing good though – 70% lol almost done! And it doesn’t help it’s over 700 pages… 😩. Good luck on finishing it!
I finished it a bit ago. Ugh. I’m so disappointed!
Okay yeah, that’s my feeling being at 50% – like nope I think what I’m feeling now is how I’ll feel at the end of it. lol – I will continue it today and hopefully finish this weekend! Bummed it’s a disappointment!

It’s a shame that Onyx Storm isn’t quite hitting the spot. I don’t know when I’ll get my copy from the library so I’m just trying to avoid too many spoilers 😃
I know, I’m sad about it! I’m 50% through and hoping the second half is better. It’s been okay, just expected more I think.
I’ve heard mixed opinions on Onyx Storm, but I haven’t even started Fourth Wing yet. Happy Reading, Yolanda!
Thanks! I’m at 50% and I might put it aside for this week and come back to it. Fourth Wing is great but I think maybe because this is a 5 book series, this book 3 just feels clunky? I don’t know :(. but we shall see how it is in the second half. Have a great rest of the week!
That’s a shame about Onyx Storm… I haven’t started the series yet myself, but I hope to soon.
